Vielsalm and Gouvy, the land of Salm and the Springs of the river Ourthe, are situated in the heart of the Ardennes at a height of  450 m. The highest point is Baraque de Fraiture in the district of Vielsalm at a height of 652 m, well known for its ski runs.Its  position in the north of the Province Luxembourg is attractive because Vielsalm is located near the province of Liège, where you  can visit the waterfalls of Coo and the caves of Remouchamps. The border of Luxembourg is at 20 km of Vielsalm and at only 5 km  of Gouvy.

With the car

Highway E25 Liège-Arlon-Luxemburg, exit Houffalize (51) to Gouvy, and exit Baraque de Fraiture (50) to Vielsalm.
Also : Highway E42 Liège-Verviers-Aken-Trier, exit Recht (12) , and then way N675 to Vielsalm. Exit Sankt-Vith (15) to Gouvy.  

With the train

line to Liège-Luxemburg. Both Vielsalm and Gouvy have a station. Please note you can take the bus from both stations, but not to many directions ; it’s sometimes easier to call a cab. (Taxis de la Salm : 080 / 21 54 41).
